o2: Check Up

Lily had her one week check-up yesterday. She's a wondefully healthy baby. :) She lost a couple of ounces, but that's normal for someone her age. Everyone loves her since she's so damn cute. She has a two week appointment next week, with my check-up two days later.

My incision is fabulous. You can't even tell I had a c-section. The tape is starting to fall off, which is good since I itch. Can't scratch it yet, obviously, and I still have pain, especially when I blow my nose or sneeze, but I have motrin and viocodin that should last me a while.

All is well, and Lily can already drink 4 ounces. She can also lift her head on her own. She's only a week and a half and doing things so quickly. She was smiling all day today. :D She's being christened at my mother's church on Sunday.

Here's my munster smiling:

And the Labor story:

Water broke at around 3 am Tuesday morning.
Mother and I argued for about whether or not my water had really broken.
Went to hospital around 4:15
Was 90% effaced
Called Anniey and Kesia
Contractions, though regular at 3 minutes apart, where going nowhere, so started pitocin at around 7:40
Was given stadol two hours later and was knocked out (asleep) for a good portion.
Everything was regular and whatever. Can't remember much...
By 10 pm, was already dilated 8 cm at 100% effacement, with mad crazy contractions.
Refused the epidural b/c I could actually handle the pain, and told mother to shut up b/c apparently she was the one in labor, not me.
Kesia and I were complimented on our awesome partnership in labor scheme.
Sometime after 11 was told that Lily was stuck and that I would have to have emergency cesarean as her heartrate was dropping.
Was rolled into OR and given spinal anesthesia, Lily was taken out at 11:52 pm, not breathing, with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice (which I was not told about until after everything had passed by Kesia and not anyone else--wtf?).
Heard he finally cry after freaking out that I couldn't hear her. They held her ove the screen. I started crying, and then I passed out.
Woke up in the recovery room sometime later with someone putting in a morphine drip and bandaging me up.
Was rolled (was still in the bed, shivering (side-effect) and covered in blankets) to the nursery where I heard Lily wailing and they placed her in my arms where I spoke to her and she got real quiet when I did so.
Handed her back and passed out again.
Woke up at 4 am on the 27th, mad exahusted, not able to feel anything from the bra-line down, was given a clean and crying baby, where I was helped up, and was able to breastfeed her.
The next 60 hours were an experience. I couldn't get up by myself, I was swollen, and had been bitched at by my mother, brother and sister, because apparently I was supposed to know that my child was in distress and choking. Do I look like Miss Cleo? I'm not fucking clairvoyant.
Came home on the 29th, stressed out, tired, but at least I'm doing better.

All in all, life sucks. I had a stressful pregnancy, labor and delivery, and even a recovery (which has eased since I'm recovering still), but I now have a beautiful baby girl that I'm thankful for. She keeps me on my toes and is the only reason I haven't punched anybody yet.

Hope everyone had happy holidays and a great start at the new year.

11 (6.0): Labor soon?

25 minutes ago--- loss of entire mucous plug/ bloody show.... one comment...damn, that was gross.

Contractions woke me up at 4:30 this morning, but they've been mild. They are now starting to increase in pressure, but still are mild.

EDIT:
8:05 pm --- still mad amounts of contractions, increased in pressure. bloody show still present. kid who won't sit still...so she makes it that much harder.

happy Christmas....

11 (5.1):

Bad News:
Still not dilating. So I can't be induced this week.

Good News:
I'm at least 75% effaced. I've been walking around a lot more, so hopefully a nice little jog will speed up the process. She's big and healthy. We (mum and I) think she may be around 8 lbs when born.

If she's not born by Christmas (my 41w1d mark), I made an appointment to induce on the 27th. I'm actually thinking she may be born before that. I just need to do some more movin' and shakin'. *sigh* Frustrating that she's taking her sweet ass time.

11 (5.0):

40 Weeks

I'm passed my due date. I was due this past Saturday. Yeah, nothing. I have an appointment today with the OB and I'm asking for an induction this week. I do not want to spend Christmas/eve in the hospital. I'm in pain, and frankly, if someone keeps asking me if the baby is here yet when I've repeatedly said "I'll let you know" I'm going to punch someone. It's irritating. Hence why I don't answer the phone anymore. Apparently no one understands English.

Anyway, that's it. She'll be here this week sometime. Hoepfully tomorrow if I'm lucky, since my doctor specifically said he wasn't going to let me go a week overdue and I refuse to spend the holidays in the L&D room.

Now, for the last time...any news, and I will let you know.

11 (4.0): Quick Note #2

I'm due tomorrow.

Nothing has progressed. My cervix is still the same, there has been no change. My doctor is not going to let me go more than a week overdue. So if by Christmas eve, she's not out, I will be induced. And if the induction doesn't work, I'll have to have the cesarean. I'm not very happy about this. I was hoping for a natural birth.

*sigh* I'm mad exhausted.
